Dream of becoming a Designer of Luxury Eyewear
In early 1998, Alberto decided to take a chance and move to the UK to pursue his dream of becoming a designer of luxury eyewear. With just a few samples of his designer glasses
frames, he used the Yellow Pages to find independent opticians in his area to sell them to. He found himself working long hours, often seven days a week, to build his business from
scratch.
Alberto’s early years in the UK were challenging. He was not familiar with the British market, and he faced language barriers and cultural differences. However, he was driven by his
passion for eyewear and his desire to create a collection of frames that would make the wearer feel confident and elegant.
Hard Work and Dedication to his Eyewear Business
For years, Alberto worked alone as the Director, Rep, Receptionist, and Packer of his business, putting in long hours and struggling to make ends meet. But he persevered,
focusing on his craft and his vision for his brand.
Despite the challenges he faced, Alberto’s hard work paid off. His frames began to gain popularity, and he started expanding his business. He hired staff and moved to larger
premises, where he continued to develop his brand. Alberto’s dedication to quality and his focus on craftsmanship was evident in every frame he designed.

One of the keys to Alberto’s success is his commitment customer service. He has always been a big advocate for Independent Opticians and small independent chains. Ever since he founded the company 25 years ago, he worked with independents as he always preferred doing business with someone he knows and can build a trusting working relationship with. Due to being in business for so long now he had the privilege of seeing some of his customers grow and flourish and, in some cases, even open more practices which he always loves to see and support.
What Alberto hasn’t lost is the desire to meet all his long-standing customers of his area face to face. He believes that having the chance to personally connect helps to understand the individual needs and to build the personal service he is very proud of.

Alberto feels that this is an integral part of Murano Eyewear success as he can stand out from the big frame distributors, too often more interested to gain market share than serving their customers.
